peppermint bark three ways

Ingredients

  • 12 oz semi-sweet, dark or milk chocolate chips (pick your favorite)
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 12 oz white chocolate chips
  • 5 candy canes, crushed

Instructions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the semi-sweet, dark or milk chocolate in a double boiler on stove top (a glass bowl can be used over a pan of boiling water).
  3. Stir constantly, add peppermint extract, and remove from heat just before fully melted.
  4. Stir vigorously until all pieces are melted. Spread the chocolate on parchment paper into a rectangle, approximately 10 x 12.
  5. Refrigerate until set, about 15-20 minutes. Melt white chocolate in double boiler.
  6. Spread over dark chocolate. Sprinkle candy canes over white chocolate.
  7. Allow to harden. Break into pieces or cut with sharp knife.
