You may recognize the following recipe, but look a little closer…. it is slightly different! Many recipes similar to this use graham cracker crumbs for the crust. We make it with corn flakes and good ole’ butter for the crust.
The key is not only the cornflakes, but also to drizzle a small amount of condensed milk over the cornflakes after you press them into the pan and before you put the layers on. This helps hold the bars together.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- 2 1/4 cups crushed cornflakes
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 ¼ cup flaked coconut
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- 1 can condensed milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Melt butter and combine with cornflakes.
- Press evenly into 9 x 13 pan.
- Drizzle condensed milk back and forth one time. Let the milk settle into the cornflake mixture.
- Sprinkle (in this order) chocolate chips, coconut and nuts.
- Drizzle remaining can of condensed milk back and forth over mixture. It will look like a lot, but finish the entire can.
- Bake at 325 for 20-25 mins, until slightly browned on top.
